Noetic Technologies is the commercial and marketing company of the University of Southern Mississippi’s Research Foundation that manages intellectual property and business development.

Yes!  Noetic is committed to commercializing technology, whether it be internally at Southern Miss or outside the world of academia. Our team can assists your company in all development aspects. If you are interested, we will find the right professor or technology to meet your requirements.

Noetic will be the pathway to donate technology to the University of Mississippi’s Research Foundation. Typically, we ask for donations that will cover the patent maintenance costs for a period of time and some modest sum for further development work.

When you find the best fit, Noetic will help with the research contract which will define the scope of the research project and ownership of any resulting technologies.

Once you have signed a confidentiality agreement, evaluated the technology and decided to proceed with a particular technology, a license agreement will be drawn up. Noetic is very flexible on the terms of the agreement but typically expects patent cost reimbursement, license fee and royalties. We are willing to consider up front payments, exclusive or non-exclusive agreements, deferred payments, equity ownership, etc.
